FIFA, which is short for Fรฉdรฉration Internationale de Football Association is the group that's in charge of football all around the world. Football is a sport that people really love. FIFA was started in Paris on May 21 1904 by seven countries in Europe. Now FIFA has 211 members: that's even more, than the United Nations.When people talk about FIFA they are usually thinking about one thing: the FIFA World Cup. The FIFA World Cup is a tournament that happens every four years. It is so big that it stops everything in some countries. The FIFA World Cup makes people who do not know each other become like friends. It makes football players become famous forever. The FIFA World Cup is what people mean when they say FIFA.

The FIFA World Cup started with an idea: the FIFA World Cup could bring the whole world together to watch football. This idea was thought of by Jules Rimet who was the president of FIFA.
